Ingredients 

For the marinade:

  • 7 oz Danfe’s Soya Wadi
  • ½ cup Yogurt / Curd
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • ½ tsp Danfe’s Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Danfe’s Coriander Seeds, Crushed
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Bara Masala

For the gravy:

  • 2 Medium-Sized Tomatoes, Finely Chopped
  • 2 Medium-Sized Onions, Finely Chopped
  • 5 Cashews Nuts, Split
  • ½ in Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Cardamom
  • 2 Cloves
  • 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp Danfe’s Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Danfe’s Coriander Seeds, Crushed
  • 1 tsp Danfe’s Bara Masala  
  • 1 ½ tsp Kasuri Methi
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • ½ cup Water
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves, Chopped (for Garnishing)

Instructions

Step 1: Boil water in a large pot. Once the water is boiled, add Danfe’s Soya Wadi. Keep the chunks boiling for 15 minutes. Then strain it. 

Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, add all the ingredients listed under “for the marinade” and combine well. Then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Step 3: Heat 1 tbsp oil and butter in a large pan. Once the butter is melted completely, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and cardamom. Saute for a minute until they splutter. 

Step 4: Next, add the ginger-garlic paste and onions. Saute for 2-4 minutes until the onions become translucent and the raw smell of the ginger-garlic paste disappears. 

Step 5: Next, add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, coriander seeds (crushed), red chili powder, bara masala, and cashew nuts. Saute on low-medium heat for a few minutes. You should get a nice, dry paste. 

Step 6: Take the pan off the stove and let it cool. Once it’s cooled to room temperature, grind to a fine paste. 

Step 7: Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a pan. Add 1 tsp kasuri methi and the masala paste. Combine well.

Step 8: Add ½ cup of water to the mixture and combine well. Let it simmer for 5 – 7 minutes until it gets to a low boil and you get a gravy consistency. 

Step 9: Add ½ tsp of kasuri methi and switch off the stove. Mix well and then as a final step, garnish the gravy with fresh coriander leaves. 

Step 10: Transfer to a bowl and serve hot with rice, naan, roti, or paratha.

  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks, small
  • 1 tsp Ginger- Garlic Paste
  • ½ tsp Danfe’s Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Yogurt / Curd
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Mint Leaves, Finely Chopped
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves, Finely Chopped
  • Salt to Taste

Instructions

Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, soak masoor dal and rice for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, strain the water and keep the rice and masoor dal aside.  

Step 2: Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, cardamoms, whole black pepper, cloves, and saute for a few minutes until fragrant. 

Step 3: Add green chilies, onion, ginger garlic paste, and turmeric powder. Saute until the raw smell disappears.

Step 4: Next, add the yogurt, rice, masoor dal, water, mint leaves, and coriander leaves. Mix well, close the lid, and cook until the rice is perfectly cooked. 

Step 5: Once the rice is perfectly cooked, add the ghee on top and mix well. Put the lid back on and cook for a few additional minutes (4-6 minutes). 

Step 6: Turn off the stove, serve, and enjoy!

Step 1: In a pressure cooker, add water, salt, and potatoes. Then pressure cook for 7-9 minutes. Then let it cool.

Step 2: Once the potatoes get to room temperature, peel and cut into small cubes. 

Step 3: Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds and cook until they splutter. 

Step 4: Once the cumin seeds start spluttering, add the green chilies and stir. 

Step 5: Next, add the potatoes and stir well. 

Step 6: Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and saute for 2-3 minutes. 

Step 7: As a final step, add the lemon juice and mix well. Then garnish with coriander leaves.

Instructions

Step 1: Soak the rajma overnight in a bowl.

Step 4: Heat oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the tomato-onion paste and fry until it’s golden brown and you see the oil start to separate. 

Step 5: Next, add red chili powder, bara masala, crushed coriander seeds, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix until everything is combined well. Saute for 2-4 minutes. 

Step 6: Add water as needed to get a thick gravy consistency. Bring the gravy to a low boil.

Step 7: Now, add the cooked rajma along with the water it was cooked with. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Step 8: Turn off the stove and add the chopped coriander leaves to garnish. Serve hot with roti or rice.
